The Goals of GCI
Raise awareness
It is the mission of the GCI to raise awareness about green chemistry in order to facilitate sustainable practices within the chemistry and chemical engineering community at UCONN.
Educate
GCI strives to educate scientists and engineers about important green chemistry concepts that are relevant to chemical research and the community at large.
Collaborate
The GCI intends to accomplish this mission through seminars, workshops, and networking engagements
What is Green Chemistry
- Green Chemistry is just a different way of thinking about how chemistry and chemical engineering can be done in a safer and more efficient way
- The design of chemical products and processes that reduce or eliminate the use or generation of hazardous substances. Including its design, manufacture, use, and ultimate disposal.
